Securonix

Simplifying a complex interaction model for cybersecurity threats

Securonix develops advanced cybersecurity software allowing analysts to monitor, detect, and respond to threats across complex IT environments. Our team was engaged to improve platform usability, streamline analyst workflows, and create a more consistent, approachable interface for both novice and expert users.

Streamlining Analyst Workflows

The platform previously relied on a vertical drill-down navigation model that made it difficult for analysts to access critical information quickly. My team conducted interviews with security analysts, observed their workflows, and performed a competitive audit to identify pain points and opportunities.

Based on these insights, we redesigned the architecture to surface key information more efficiently and introduced a horizontal navigation pattern that better matched analysts’ mental models. This approach reduced friction, helped users orient themselves within the system, and made complex data easier to explore.

Design System Integration and Visual Consistency

Alongside workflow improvements, I focused on creating a cohesive visual language that aligned with Securonix’s rebrand. I designed a robust design language system built on Material UI principles, ensuring components were consistent, accessible, and scalable across the platform.

This work involved not only visual design but also establishing guidelines for interactions, iconography, and states, so that both existing and new features could integrate seamlessly. The result was a more intuitive, polished interface that supports analysts’ work without overwhelming them, while laying a foundation for ongoing enhancements across the product.
